Revolution Skateboards

Revolution, actually Revolution, is a South African based skateboard company that focuses on the entire lifestyle of skateboarding and pushes the art and music side in such a big and different way. It’s amazing for us when people think out of the box and support the people really involved in the scene.

Revolution can be viewed as an initiative to encourage and initiate change. activist at its core Revolution is about creating, evolving and empowering. We aim to spread a DIY ethos to encourage people to build a better future for themselves. “Invest in yourself” sums it up. Revolution is a brand that encompasses these fundamentals, and using skateboarding, music, and art as a medium through which to we can spread this message on a national scale.

Aesthetically the brand needs to be mature, evolved, clean, urban and contemporary as it’s aimed at a more educated audience or those who are morally motivated and conscious.

The Work Process

Revolution as a brand is one of our most exciting and we have felt extremely privileged since the day we started working with them in about 2003. We love what the brand stands for and really agree with the causes that they support.

Since the early days, we have been responsible for the photographs that they have put out for their marketing and to push their skateboard team.

At the end of 2010 we were commissioned to redevelop their entire internet presence so we worked hard to create something that would truly express the brand and then provide the client with the ability to update the site and content freely on a daily basis. We had previously used WordPress as the back-end for the site as they initially had used it as a blog so we completely customized the entire site for them and ensured that the site all links correctly, updating all their previous post links to incorporate into the new site, and really takes advantage of search engines to push their news and content.

The new site incorporates a lot of custom interactive features which ensure the site is constantly fresh. A few of these features include Facebook comments, a calendar which pulls events dates and links from Facebook, banner advertising at different sizes on each page, video of the day feature on the home page and newsletter signup.

The Work Process

We were commissioned by The Skillful Zone earlier this year once they had decided to take their great idea of the learning centre to South Africa. The concept is great and we fully support it so we were really excited to be involved in making this project a success.

We worked closely with the designer and the owners on creating the logo and coming up with a colourscheme that would be strong and powerful. The website needed to be really “clean” and allow for the owners to be able to update the site as and when they like to ensure that new information is posted for the readers. During the development we setup the Twitter and Facebook profiles for the centre and incorporated them into the website.

The Work Process

We were contacted by Yellow Capital early in 2009 to assist them with the development of their brand identity which they had some clear vision about. After a few meetings with them we grew the ideas into something that would showcase the brand and promote what they were wanting to achieve with the company.

Once we had completed the logo we were commissioned to create business cards, brochures, advertising straplines, flyers, leaflets, information packs and business folders that would tie in with the look and feel that we had created.

Once all the documentation had been completed and printed we worked a good few late nights to created an online home where investors and clients would be able to obtain information about Yellow Capital as well as be able to read up on investment news / opportunities and check up on their investment portfolios. The site was developed around the WordPress backend so that the client could directly update the site with investment news and financial advice.

This project is an ongoing one for us as we constantly take care of our clients needs in terms of design work that they need as well as website developments as the company grows.

Visit the Marcus Maschwitz website on www.marcusmaschwitz.co.uk

The Work Process

We have worked with Marcus for some time now as he is a great photographer that we have commissioned to shoot for projects we were involved in so we were honoured when he spoke to us about taking over his internet platform and created something that he felt comfortable with.

Marcus is one of the most humble people we have ever worked with (especially in this industry) so we wanted to create something that portrayed this. We began by designing and developing his website which he would use as his main portfolio and face of his work. The site was built using WordPress as the back-end so that he would be able to add and remove images and content with ease.

We then assisted with setting up a Facebook and Twitter profile for him and incorporating these into his site as well as pushing his website on them to ensure traffic is driven between all three platforms.

After the success and growth of readership on we decided to create another site which could be used similarly to a blog that Marcus could utilize to update with images that he photographed that wouldn’t be used as main portfolio pieces but were still great and needed to be shared. This too was built around WordPress and the site has already been linked through from Bands and Artists that feature in the posts. Traffic from here is sent to Marcus’s main portfolio site as well.

Square Services

Square Services was started in 2010 when a group of experienced freelance contractors decided that they needed a “face” to represent their workforce. The company is headed up by Ish who, himself, has years of professional experience hanging on his belt.

When you use a Square Services engineer or one of their specialist trade teams, you can relax in the knowledge that they are fully accredited in their field of expertise, well presented, arrive on time, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful – and that they will get the job done to the highest professional standards.

You can view the Square Services website on www.squareservices.co.uk

The Work Process

We were contacted by Ish, the owner of Square Services, to come up with a logo and corporate identity that he could use to step the brand up to the next level. We sat down together and threw ideas around regarding colours that he liked and agreed that the brand needed to be really clean to stand out from the “cheap” look of competing plumbing agencies.

We worked on a few ideas and then came up with the logo that both us and the client really liked. The idea was to have a square because of the name and then use the first two letters of the word square which also stand for the measurement which the company would use a lot. The idea worked well and we followed this up by creating and printing square shaped business cards and flyers to tie the brand together.

The next phase was to create a website that the company could use to promote their services as well as use as a platform to update with interesting news / content related to their field of trade. We ensured that this was developed correctly and the team trained to ensure that they get the best SEO value out of their postings.

Visit the St. Andrew’s Montessori website on www.saintandrewsmontessori.com

The Work Process

We were called in by the owner and deputy principal of St. Andrew’s Montessori to discuss a few ideas regarding updates they could make on their website which had been live for several years that hadn’t really ever become what they had hoped for. We sat down and bounced ideas and conceptualized a plan for them to move forward incorporating a full re-brand and redesign of the website from scratch. We developed this around the WordPress back-end so that the teachers could log in as individuals and post articles, information and news for parents. The site also has a “Parents Only” section where parents can log in and download documents and newsletters in a secure environment.

At the same time we were commissioned to come in and shoot new photographs of the school as well as the staff and students to assist with portraying the feel that we have only experienced at this beautiful school.

Clink brings you up to date news, probing interviews, honest album reviews and passionate live reviews in an easy to access online portal. They provide the reader with an insight into the the world of music without prejudice of style or genre. Their main focus is and will always be the music, nothing more and never anything less than that. Clink Music Magazine is by people in the scene for people in the scene.

The Work Process

Over the last 14 months we have been working really closely with the team from Clink Music Magazine on a several projects after our friend and band photographer Marcus Maschwitz (who was commissioned by Clink on a few photo shoots) passed on our details.

We were first contacted to assist them with their online presence so we got right to work to create an online place where they could represent their take on the London music scene. The idea was to keep the site simple so that users could visit it on a daily basis for relevant news as well as online interviews, live music reviews, band introductions and several other interest pieces all at no cost to the user. This all grew as time passed with the site growing to over 21 000 unique readers in less than 12 months so we rethought the concept with the team and again sat down to redesign the site to make sure that it stays fresh. The latest features include Album Reviews, Video of the Day, Music Playlist and Facebook Comments.

If you care about music at all or are just bored at work, be sure to check out and show your support for the guys at Clink Music Magazine because it is run by a really decent bunch of people who want to make the music scene open and accessible to the people that keep it going.

The Highway Collective

The Highway Collective started when a group of friends decided they weren’t satisfied with the offerings (or lack of them) for VW fans in the scene, and set about creating their own. Intent on showing their passion for Volkswagen without having to buy into the ricey products that were currently available, the guys set out to create apparel that reflected their side of motoring. Since then we have been producing limited runs of VW enthusiast apparel and sending it all over the world.

The Highway Collective is NOT a club or an organisation. It is a brand for ALL V.A.G enthusiasts, and the lifestyle that goes with building and modding these cars. People into the Euro / OEM + scene, Vdubs, Audis, Seats, Porkers, slammed cars, good times, rat look, trailer queens, daily hacks, dropped, and stock cars…

Visit the Highway Collective website on www.highwaycollective.com

The Work Process

We were really excited when we were commissioned by the team at The Highway Collective because we have been fans of their work for a while now. The guys started with a small site a few years back to showcase some of the rides they liked and the interest grew really quickly so the team wanted to step it up and create a site / portal where they could upload content on a regular basis and grow their readership on an international level.

We developed a site around a WordPress backend as they were familiar with the interface and because WordPress is amazing. They were also interested in starting a newsletter database where readers could register with so we assisted with this and implemented it into the site.

Once this was all done we customised their Big Cartel store to match the look and feel of the website.

Purple Crunch

Purple Crunch is the brainchild of Katie Smith and was established in 2005 as her foundation to create unique and imaginative jewellery by manipulating classic styles with textured metal, wire techniques and vibrant semi-precious stones.

Katie strives on customer service and pushes herself to create pieces of jewellery that will not over power the wearer but rather add to their beauty and allow them to feel beautiful while wearing it.

The Work Process

Katie contacted us at the start of 2009, through a referral, and we immediately connected with her because of the passion that she has for creating very cool jewellery. We were commissioned to update the brand that Katie had been working on over the last few years and then completely redesign her website so that she could showcase the pieces that she would be creating.

She had a lot of ideas on paper of what she was thinking so we took this all in mind when we hit the design process and she was immediately overwhelmed with what we created (We dare share her explicit and very excited feedback that we received from her … we loved it).

You can see her work on www.purplecrunch.co.uk

Once we had completed the website Katie realized that the photographs she had commissioned previously were not up to scratch and she hired us again to photograph the new pieces that she had been working on to update the site.

The Work Process

We were contacted to create and develop the site and back-end structure for the website which we took and had a lot of fun working on. The site is based on the WordPress back-end which enables the client to update the content with ease as well as manage all comments that come in from readers. Once we had installed WordPress and customized the back end, we worked on the front skin so that it looks attractive and works for them.

The Work Process

Tsunami Seafood Emporium first contacted us during their developmental stage and we were brought in to assist them with creating a website that tied in their corporate identity as well as the feel of the restaurant. The site was created to give the reader as much information on the restaurant without giving away fully the experience that they would receive when visiting the actual location. We decided to tempt readers with snippets of the best parts of the menu (that we liked) and managed the site moving forward adding / removing special menus for occasions such as Mothers Day, Valentines Day and Christmas Celebrations.

We have on several occasions been commissioned to shoot photographs of the restaurant and food which have been used in multiple advertising campaigns (which we designed) as well as the in house restaurant dining menu.
