Today Dear Reader released their new album entitled Idealistic Animals
and we are really excited because we handled the album photography as well as all the press photography leading up to and supporting this album. It’s a special album worth getting your hands on. This was done together with Marcus Maschwitz.
These are a few pages of the CD inlay where our images have been used.

Our client, Saint Andrews Montessori, was featured in Jo Frost‘s At Home Parenting Magazine all about Montessori education and their beautiful school over in Islington, London.
We worked closely with the staff at Saint Andrews to shoot photographs that would accommodate the article as well as proof read the copy and write content for the feature. The magazine is out now but if you cannot get your hands on it then make sure to visit www.saintandrewsmontessori.com

Revolution, actually Revolution, is a South African based skateboard company that focuses on the entire lifestyle of skateboarding and pushes the art and music side in such a big and different way. It’s amazing for us when people think out of the box and support the people really involved in the scene.
Revolution can be viewed as an initiative to encourage and initiate change. activist at its core Revolution is about creating, evolving and empowering. We aim to spread a DIY ethos to encourage people to build a better future for themselves. “Invest in yourself” sums it up. Revolution is a brand that encompasses these fundamentals, and using skateboarding, music, and art as a medium through which to we can spread this message on a national scale.
Aesthetically the brand needs to be mature, evolved, clean, urban and contemporary as it’s aimed at a more educated audience or those who are morally motivated and conscious.
You can view the Revolution website on www.revolution.co.za
The Work Process
Revolution as a brand is one of our most exciting and we have felt extremely privileged since the day we started working with them in about 2003. We love what the brand stands for and really agree with the causes that they support.
Since the early days, we have been responsible for the photographs that they have put out for their marketing and to push their skateboard team.
At the end of 2010 we were commissioned to redevelop their entire internet presence so we worked hard to create something that would truly express the brand and then provide the client with the ability to update the site and content freely on a daily basis. We had previously used WordPress as the back-end for the site as they initially had used it as a blog so we completely customized the entire site for them and ensured that the site all links correctly, updating all their previous post links to incorporate into the new site, and really takes advantage of search engines to push their news and content.

The new site incorporates a lot of custom interactive features which ensure the site is constantly fresh. A few of these features include Facebook comments, a calendar which pulls events dates and links from Facebook, banner advertising at different sizes on each page, video of the day feature on the home page and newsletter signup.

Together with Marcus Maschwitz we photographed new promotional images of the guys from What Now to use for their current publicity and it was a really good time working with such a professional bunch of guys. They used two of the images for their tour posters / flyers so we thought we would share.

The Work Process
We have worked with Marcus for some time now as he is a great photographer that we have commissioned to shoot for projects we were involved in so we were honoured when he spoke to us about taking over his internet platform and created something that he felt comfortable with.
Marcus is one of the most humble people we have ever worked with (especially in this industry) so we wanted to create something that portrayed this. We began by designing and developing his website which he would use as his main portfolio and face of his work. The site was built using WordPress as the back-end so that he would be able to add and remove images and content with ease.
We then assisted with setting up a Facebook and Twitter profile for him and incorporating these into his site as well as pushing his website on them to ensure traffic is driven between all three platforms.

After the success and growth of readership on we decided to create another site which could be used similarly to a blog that Marcus could utilize to update with images that he photographed that wouldn’t be used as main portfolio pieces but were still great and needed to be shared. This too was built around WordPress and the site has already been linked through from Bands and Artists that feature in the posts. Traffic from here is sent to Marcus’s main portfolio site as well.

This month we launched the website for St. Andrew’s Montessori which is based in Islington (N1) in North London. The website has been completely re-developed from scratch according to a brief that we worked closely on with the client.
The site features photographs that we shot during the development process so that it all ties in and works well together. You can see the website on www.saintandrewsmontessori.com

St. Andrew’s Montessori Nursery School was established in 1988 and is situated in the church of St. Andrew’s, London. The school is home to children between the ages of 2 – 6 years old from all religious and ethnic backgrounds.
The children attending St. Andrew’s Montessori follow a carefully structured programme of education based on the Montessori Method of teaching and learning. The school’s approach to education creates a safe, happy and caring environment in which each child learns and develops at his or her optimum pace.

The Work Process
We were called in by the owner and deputy principal of St. Andrew’s Montessori to discuss a few ideas regarding updates they could make on their website which had been live for several years that hadn’t really ever become what they had hoped for. We sat down and bounced ideas and conceptualized a plan for them to move forward incorporating a full re-brand and redesign of the website from scratch. We developed this around the WordPress back-end so that the teachers could log in as individuals and post articles, information and news for parents. The site also has a “Parents Only” section where parents can log in and download documents and newsletters in a secure environment.

At the same time we were commissioned to come in and shoot new photographs of the school as well as the staff and students to assist with portraying the feel that we have only experienced at this beautiful school.

Together with photographer, Marcus Maschwitz, we were commissioned to capture images of the beautiful Limited Edition T3 Triumph “Ace 904 Thruxton Special” Ace Cafe Racer which was custom built by Tony Scott of T3 Racing.
The client’s brief requested that we shoot the bike in an urban / street / grime style that they could use to compile a brochure together with Ace Cafe London as they are marketing and selling the bike.

Clink Music Magazine is as the name suggests and music magazine with the added benefit of it being free and online so anyone and everyone can access it around the world. Music is their religion and they live it.
Clink brings you up to date news, probing interviews, honest album reviews and passionate live reviews in an easy to access online portal. They provide the reader with an insight into the the world of music without prejudice of style or genre. Their main focus is and will always be the music, nothing more and never anything less than that. Clink Music Magazine is by people in the scene for people in the scene.
The Work Process
Over the last 14 months we have been working really closely with the team from Clink Music Magazine on a several projects after our friend and band photographer Marcus Maschwitz (who was commissioned by Clink on a few photo shoots) passed on our details.
We were first contacted to assist them with their online presence so we got right to work to create an online place where they could represent their take on the London music scene. The idea was to keep the site simple so that users could visit it on a daily basis for relevant news as well as online interviews, live music reviews, band introductions and several other interest pieces all at no cost to the user. This all grew as time passed with the site growing to over 21 000 unique readers in less than 12 months so we rethought the concept with the team and again sat down to redesign the site to make sure that it stays fresh. The latest features include Album Reviews, Video of the Day, Music Playlist and Facebook Comments.
If you care about music at all or are just bored at work, be sure to check out and show your support for the guys at Clink Music Magazine because it is run by a really decent bunch of people who want to make the music scene open and accessible to the people that keep it going.

Purple Crunch is the brainchild of Katie Smith and was established in 2005 as her foundation to create unique and imaginative jewellery by manipulating classic styles with textured metal, wire techniques and vibrant semi-precious stones.
Katie strives on customer service and pushes herself to create pieces of jewellery that will not over power the wearer but rather add to their beauty and allow them to feel beautiful while wearing it.
The Work Process
Katie contacted us at the start of 2009, through a referral, and we immediately connected with her because of the passion that she has for creating very cool jewellery. We were commissioned to update the brand that Katie had been working on over the last few years and then completely redesign her website so that she could showcase the pieces that she would be creating.
She had a lot of ideas on paper of what she was thinking so we took this all in mind when we hit the design process and she was immediately overwhelmed with what we created (We dare share her explicit and very excited feedback that we received from her … we loved it).
You can see her work on www.purplecrunch.co.uk

Once we had completed the website Katie realized that the photographs she had commissioned previously were not up to scratch and she hired us again to photograph the new pieces that she had been working on to update the site.

Today saw the launch of a new website that we were commissioned to work on in conjunction with our UK partner, Studio Melon Ltd.
The website is for a jewellery designer in the UK that works under the name Purple Crunch and specialises in custom wedding jewellery mostly made of sterling silver. She has some really amazing stuff and it was an absolute pleasure working with her and we really wish her all the best with this venture and feel that the website will really help her move up to the next level as a professional.

KFD Skateboards is a South African based skateboarding company that is proud to have all their skateboards and merchandise manufactured in the USA to ensure a premium quality product.
You can view the KFD Skateboards website on www.kfdskateboards.co.za
The Work Process
The KFD Skateboards project began for us a while ago when we were commissioned to join the KFD team on a road trip to document the trip and photograph the team riders for an article that ran in Australian magazine called Wooden Toy.

Since that trip a strong relationship continued and we became the official media house for the KFD team. Many tours and articles have been shot over the years as well as some advertising and marketing images to push the brand both locally and internationally.

Now just recently, we were commissioned to create the KFD Skateboards official website which has the abilities of being updated by the client and team with ease ensuring the freshest content. It also includes the latest products and team information.

Killer Ltd is one of the companies that we have worked for several years now and it is always a pleasure working with them. Over the years they have gained our trust so we now normally have carte blanche in terms of where to take projects visually and this was one of those examples. JP du Preez is their new team rider and they wanted to run a full page advert in magazines as well as print up giant in-store POP and POS ads to introduce him to the team. We worked with Marcus Maschwitz on this.

The Work Process
Tsunami Seafood Emporium first contacted us during their developmental stage and we were brought in to assist them with creating a website that tied in their corporate identity as well as the feel of the restaurant. The site was created to give the reader as much information on the restaurant without giving away fully the experience that they would receive when visiting the actual location. We decided to tempt readers with snippets of the best parts of the menu (that we liked) and managed the site moving forward adding / removing special menus for occasions such as Mothers Day, Valentines Day and Christmas Celebrations.

We have on several occasions been commissioned to shoot photographs of the restaurant and food which have been used in multiple advertising campaigns (which we designed) as well as the in house restaurant dining menu.
